4 Things to check before getting a rental fridge

If your current fridge has gone ‘KAPUT’ or you’re in the market for a new rental, getting your facts straight before leaping into a rental relationship is important. After all, you don’t want to be the person who chooses a 350L frost-free rental fridge, only to find it doesn’t actually fit through your front door! Assessing your needs can also help save you time and money in the long run as you’ll end up selecting a fridge rental best suited to your households needs.

Before choosing your rental fridge from our wide range of different models, think about the below questions. They’ll help guide you towards your perfect (fridge) fit.

1. What size appliance do you ACTUALLY need?

Fridge sizes vary enormously. We offer models that range in capacity from 220-350L and 54cm wide to 65cm wide which is quite a variation. It’s important to assess exactly where you’re fridge is going to go and measure up accurately. Once you know how big the space is that you’re working with and the access to your property, you’ll know which models to focus on. It’s also important to make sure that any doorways that the fridge will need to be transported through are wide/high enough for your appliance when it’s delivered.

2. What capacity do you need?

Getting a rental fridge with the right capacity is not only an environmentally friendly option but it can also save you money on your electricity bill (it’s a win win situation really). The bigger the fridge, the more it will cost to run and the more energy it will require. A fridge suited to the size of your household with an efficient energy rating will end up being far more cost effective, even over a short term rental period. A two person household typically requires a capacity of around 250-330L. If you don’t cook very often or travel regularly, you may be able to get away with a 220L capacity as you’ll most likely have a lot less food to store.

3. Length of rental?

How long do you actually need your rental fridge for? The longer the rental, the more cost effective it tends to be so if you’re going to be living in your current house/apartment for the next year or two, a 6 month rental is going to be a far better option. Conversely, if you know that your circumstances are going to change, a short term 3 month rental, is going to save you from realising that you’ve still got time left on your fridge rental but no actual place to stick your fridge. We’re the short term rental experts and can usually find the perfect solution to your immediate needs. Give us a call if you need to chat about your current living situation and what product and plan may suit best.

4. How does delivery and return pick-up work?

When you’re renting an appliance, especially short term, flexibility is key. That also applies to the pick up and delivery of whatever it is you’re renting. While some companies offer free delivery, they’ll often charge for pick up. The hours when your appliance can arrive can also sometimes be problematic, especially if you’re out of the house regularly. At Aceco, we offer FREE delivery and pickup of your rental fridge at a time that suits you and we’ll install it for you. No mucking around with power cords and trolley’s for you! We’ll get you up and running in no time, leaving you the important job of stocking your new appliance.
